The Drood Bio
The Drood is a US based experimental psych-rock band from Denver, Colorado featuring Nathan Jamiel, Daniel Watts, and Hayden Peltier. With a captivating blend of industrial, post-rock, and psychedelia The Drood offer a provocative experience for fans of the avant-garde. Their eclectic nature has led them to explore a wide range of styles including dance, noise-rock, ambient drones and ballads, and they are not afraid to inject a touch of wry humor into the mix.
Active for over a decade The Drood have released a number of LPs, EPs and singles and have produced a string of music videos both self-made and from film-makers like Drummond West, Sense from Nonsense and Wizardhead. The band has worked along-side a number of musicians including Big City Orchestra and Randall Frazier (of The Legendary Pink Dots and Orbit Service) and have collaborated on a number of releases with Dead Voices On Air (the solo project of Mark Spybey, founding member of Download, Zoviet France, and Beehatch), with Nathan and Daniel playing as the backing-band for a special 2022 DVOA tour.
The Drood perform rarely and mostly in their home state, but have appeared live on a number of local and international radio stations including 1190, KGNU and DFM Radio TV and were the sole supporting act for Itchy-O, opening for an audience of over 2,000 in 2023 at Levitt Pavilion Denver.
The trio returned to form with the release of their fourth LP The Book of Drood in March 2024 featuring nine tracks of cinematic, serpentine psych-tinged art-rock after their previous 2023 ambient and noise-inflected album Superposition.
